Dunes: Part Two

Folks who have already seen part one have been anticipating part two of this blockbuster. Paul Atreides joins forces with the Fremen and his lover, Chani, to seek vengeance against those who murdered his family. Faced with an impossible choice, Paul must decide whether to follow his heart or his destiny.

Dune: Part Two was originally scheduled to be released on October 20, 2023. But, it was postponed by over four months to March 2024, due to the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes. Set to be released on 1 March 2024, this movie promises to be epic, sweeping and futuristic. Fan have eagerly anticipated it, making it one of the top movies to watch out for in March 2024.

Starring Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides and Zendaya as Chani, the movie is Directed by Denis Villeneuve.

Kung Fu Panda 4

Po, the Dragon Warrior, is about to take on the role of Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace. However, he needs to find a successor to train and prepare to become the next Dragon Warrior. Meanwhile, a villainous sorceress is planning to bring back the deadliest foes that Po has ever faced from the spirit realm. Can Po protect the Valley of Peace while ensuring that the next Dragon Warrior is ready to take on the mantle?

Featuring Jack Black as Po, a giant panda who is set to become a spiritual leader after renouncing his title as the Dragon Warrior. Awkwafina as Zhen, a corsac fox who is a thief and accompanies Po on his journey. Viola Davis as The Chameleon, an evil shape shifting chameleon sorceress who can copy the kung fu of others by absorbing their abilities.

Directed by Mike Mitchell, this exciting animated comedy is set to be released on March 8, 2024.

The American Society of Magical Negroes

A young man joins a secret organization of Black magical people dedicated to making the lives of white people easier. At first, he finds his newfound powers thrilling. But, as he uses them to give white people advantages, he begins to question the ethics of his work.

As he learns more about the organization and its true purpose, he must decide whether to stay or abandon the life he’s built with them.

Kobi Libii makes his directorial debut on this movie set to be released on March 15, 2024. Starring Justice Smith, David Alan Grier and An-Li Bogan, it’s definitely one movie to watch out for in March 2024.

Road House

In the action film ‘Road House,‘ Jake Gyllenhaal plays Dalton, a former UFC fighter who is trying to escape his violent past. He ends up taking a job as a bouncer at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. The roadhouse is run by Frankie, a woman trying to save her bar from a criminal gang that is threatening to take it over. Dalton proves to be more than a match for the thugs. However, a mysterious, dangerous gun-for-hire named Knox proves to be a formidable opponent. 

The story is full of adrenaline-fueled violence and tense showdowns. As the stakes get higher, Dalton must decide whether to continue fighting for the sake of the roadhouse, or turn his back on his past and try to find peace elsewhere. Will he be able to save the bar and come to terms with his own history of violence? Only time will tell. 

Directed by Doug Liman, the cast of the movie includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Jessica Williams, Billy Magnussen and Conor McGregor. To be released on March 21, 2024.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

In ‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,’ the Spengler family returns to the iconic New York City firehouse where it all began. The new generation of Ghostbusters teams up with the original Ghostbusters, who have been developing top-secret research to take ghostbusting to the next level. 

Soon, they discover an ancient artifact that unleashes a powerful evil force, threatening to bring about a second Ice Age. Now, the old and new Ghostbusters must band together to save their city and the world.

Starring Finn Wolfhard as Trevor Spengler and Mckenna Grace as Phoebe Spengler. The movie is Directed by Gil Kenan and will be in cinemas on March 22.

Bob Marley: One Love

This is my personal favourite. I just couldn’t resist adding it to the list of movies to watch out for in March 2024.

Bob Marley: One Love is an American biographical drama film based on the life of reggae singer and songwriter Bob Marley. It covers his rise to fame in the mid-1970s up until his death in 1981. Already released on February 14, 2024, this movie is a must-see if you haven’t seen it yet. 

In fact, a review given by Kari-Lee Grant, PhD, President, and CEO, Center for Research and Equitable Development LLC, says, “When I heard the languaging of non-native speakers of the Jamaican language in the movie, who learned the language from esteemed Jamaican linguistics experts, mi glad bag bos! Big op unuself.” 

To prepare for his role as Bob Marley, Kingsley Ben-Adir immersed himself in the life and work of the reggae icon. He studied over 50 archival interviews to absorb the nuances of Marley’s speech. He also studied the guitar to portray the musician with authenticity. Ben-Adir’s commitment to portraying Marley with accuracy and sensitivity is a testament to his talent and dedication to his craft.

The excellent biopic is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green. It stars my absolute fave, Lashana Lynch as Rita Marley, and James Norton as Chris Blackwell.
