Hey! Sorry for the break in transmission…I guess you can say that the weather took a toll on my health but I’m back like I never left. Who missed me? 

While I was away, I can tell you for free that Nigerians have been through a lot both home and abroad. From the harsh economic realities at home that pushed people to the streets (Nationwide protests), to the treatment we got from other African countries even on social media. 

Let me bring you up to speed with all the juicy bits you’ve missed out on this past month. 

VDM vs Prophet Fufeyin

Not minding the N1 billion lawsuit, the ongoing court proceedings and threats from other religious circles on social media, controversial activist Verydarkman, isn’t done experimenting with Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin’s miracle products. 

VDM took to the streets to give the supernatural products to physically challenged individuals and no miraculous results occurred contrary to the prophet’s claim that it could cure numerous illnesses. 

The clergyman has since stopped the sales of his supernatural items on his website. 

FG And The Minors

It seems we would not be seeing Nigerian schooled 19-year-old graduates anytime soon as the FG through its minister of education, Tahir Mamman has confirmed that children under 18 are no longer eligible to take Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSCE), WAEC and NECO. 

What a time to be a minor!

Nigerians Vs South Africans

Following the withdrawal of the SA/Nigerian contestant, Chidinma, from the recently concluded Miss SA due to the indiscriminate bullying she got from the esteemed citizens of SA, another South African decided to try Nigerians and they learnt the hard way or maybe they’re still learning. 

A netizen shared how he spends his idle moments by booking rides on Nigerian hailing platforms just to waste the fuel and efforts of Nigerians as payback for all their shenanigans online. 

This tweet inspired other South Africans who also went about doing the same until Nigerians decided to defend their own and brought guns to a knife fight. 

Nigerians outdid themselves, ordering for goods and “services” with the promise of payment on delivery, they ended up creating surge, scarcity, confusion and nearly wrecking businesses. 

Anyway, South Africans have come online to apologize and extend an olive branch

VDM Vs Other Celebrities

Our Nigerian social media Batman is unrelenting as he boldly took on the villains of the entertainment industry in Nigeria, who had showered the mummy of Lagos with cash while he/she was away in prison, especially celebrities like Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Tonto Dikeh, etc.

He claimed they were encouraging the wrong things and financing societal anomalies as this show of kindness might pass the wrong message to the younger generation who look up to them as role models. 

Jemima and the Feminists

The interesting colours of feminism were in full display on social media as our Nigerian ladies straightened Jemima.  

She had aired her views on how eager she is to take up her husband’s name immediately after marriage and how that choice is impacting the decision she makes even as a single lady. 

So much for ladies having the right to decide whatever they want. Long live feminism!

What God Cannot Do Does Not Exist

In debunking some of the trending myths around the Christian religion on a podcast, Abel Damina had mentioned Jerry Eze’s name in passing, commenting on how the slogan from his prayer program was inaccurate. 

What was meant as a subtle shade became an excuse for people to recount their miraculous experiences and that of their loved ones after joining the prayer program. 

They nearly broke Obasanjo’s Internet with testimonies.
