The thing is, ‘Awuke‘ may have its moments, but it doesn’t have that… pizzazz that leaves you replaying it over and over. The beat is there, but the energy is a bit too low-key for what we need to ignite the December vibe. But for this December, I’m just not convinced that “Awuke” is the song that’s going to take over the festive season the way “Kese (Dance)” already has. Honestly, it feels like the kind of song you play when you’re chilling at a gathering, but not the one you’ll shout about when you’re calling your friends to get ready for a crazy night out.
